Private hire

Request a private hire quote

Every project is built around your real needs rather than a catalogue of formulas. Tell us about your project: intended date, type of event, approximate number of guests. We will then send you a personalised quote.

    Contact us

Write to us at contact@chateauducreux.com or call us, stating the intended date, the type of event and the number of guests. These three pieces of information are enough for a first exchange; the rest (caterer, decoration, accommodation) is then worked out as the conversation goes on. We are happy to arrange a visit of the estate before any confirmation, for a wedding or retreat project in particular.

We generally reply within 48 hours, except during busy periods at the start of the season.

What is useful to include in your request

A first request benefits from stating, when already known:

    • the intended date, or a range of dates if nothing is settled yet
    • the type of event: wedding, corporate retreat, birthday or other private gathering
    • the approximate number of guests, distinguishing if needed between ceremony, cocktail reception and dinner
    • whether or not you need accommodation on site in the Maison du Régisseur
    • any constraint known in advance: accessibility, timings, suppliers already booked

None of this information is required for a first contact: an incomplete request receives just as quick a reply, with the questions needed to move forward.

    What happens after your message

Once your message is received, the owners check the estate’s availability on the intended dates and get back to you within 48 hours, with a first estimate or further questions if needed. If the project goes ahead, a visit of the estate is offered before any commitment, an opportunity to see the spaces (court of honour, drawing rooms, park) in person and discuss practical details on site rather than on a plan. The detailed quote generally follows this visit, or comes directly after the initial exchange when the format of the project is already well defined. A deposit then confirms the booking of the date, with its terms set out at the time of agreement.

How far in advance should you request a quote?

The booking lead time depends a great deal on the type of event and the period in question. For a wedding on a Saturday between May and September, the most sought-after period, allowing several months is wise: the 8 to 12 private hire dates each year are quickly booked for this window. For a weekday corporate retreat outside the summer season, availability is generally more flexible, sometimes at a few weeks’ notice. For a one-evening private event, the room for manoeuvre depends mainly on the calendar of other private hires already confirmed for the desired period. In any case, a request sent early costs nothing and secures a date before it is taken by another project; conversely, a last-minute request still has a reasonable chance of success if the calendar allows, especially outside the months of May to September.

Do you need to have chosen your suppliers before requesting a quote?

No: most requests arrive before the caterer, the photographer or the DJ has been chosen. The château’s quote covers the hire of the estate itself, any accommodation in the Maison du Régisseur and the access conditions, independently of the outside suppliers who come in afterwards. The owners can recommend trusted professionals once the date is confirmed. Nothing obliges you to choose them, however: freedom to choose suppliers is a feature of the place, not a paid option. It is useful, on the other hand, to mention in your request whether a specific caterer or photographer is already in mind, so that their knowledge of the site can be checked if necessary, which sometimes simplifies the logistics on the day itself.

Three types of private hire, one point of contact

Whether the project is a wedding, a corporate retreat or a private event, the quote request follows the same entry point. The precise terms (length of access to the estate, capacities, indicative rates) vary from one formula to another and are detailed on the corresponding page; the form below is nevertheless common to all three, whatever the project.
