Hold your retreat, board meeting or incentive in a historic setting, in peace and quiet, about three hours’ drive from both Paris and Lyon. The château welcomes up to 40 people in plenary session, with three drawing rooms for breakout workshops.
The Château du Creux offers an environment well suited to retreats: away from the bustle of the city and surrounded by nature. It is equipped with the facilities needed for serious work, not just relaxation: fibre Wi-Fi, HD projector, flipchart and sound system. This combination, rare for a heritage venue, allows a management team to work in the morning in conditions comparable to those of a conference centre, then enjoy the park and the calm of the estate in the afternoon or evening.
The château is a little under three hours’ drive from Paris and a similar time from Lyon, a fairly central position for bringing together teams from several regions. The nearest station is Vallon-en-Sully, five minutes from the château; Montluçon is about 30 minutes away, Moulins and Vichy about an hour. A car or an organised shuttle is often more practical than the train for most participants. For a group coming from several cities, arranging a common meeting point, station or airport, with a shared shuttle remains the simplest solution, to be organised in advance rather than improvised on the day.
A standard conference centre offers a functional room but leaves participants with few memories once back at the office. A château lived in by one family for several centuries, whose surroundings were designed by an architect to the King, and a park of several hectares, leaves a different mark, especially for incentives or board meetings that want to mark a specific moment in the team’s calendar. This difference has a counterpart: less logistical routine than a conference centre used to hosting dozens of groups a month, which makes preparation in advance all the more useful. Specific technical questions, guaranteed internet speed or the exact layout of the room, are settled directly with the owners rather than with a dedicated sales department.
A management retreat often comes with the same constraint: getting out of the usual setting without giving the impression of going on an outing. The Château du Creux meets this constraint through its dual nature: an equipped place of work, with a plenary room and three workshop rooms for breakout sessions. It also offers an estate of several hectares where a team can meet in a different way than around a meeting table, during a lunch break, a walk in the park or a private tour of the château at the end of the day. This alternation between structured work and more informal moments sets the place apart from a standard conference centre, designed almost exclusively for the work itself.
The day formula, from 9 am to 6 pm, includes welcome coffee, the equipped room, morning and afternoon breaks and a lunch provided by a partner caterer, from €95 excl. VAT per person based on 20 participants. The residential formula, over two days, adds an evening and a night on site: accommodation in the Maison du Régisseur supplemented, beyond ten people, by nearby hotels, then a half-day of work the next day after breakfast. This second formula, priced by quote according to the number of participants and the options chosen, is better suited to a board that wants to take time to reflect rather than rush through the agenda in a single day.
