Château du Creux announces its first small game shooting day of the season: join us the weekend of 26–27 September 2026, across six hundred hectares of woods, hedgerows and game-rich plains. Booking is now open.

Ground gamekept for three generations

The estate spans six hundred hectares of woods, hedgerows and game-rich plains, gamekept and beaten by the same teams for three generations. Drives are run in the French tradition: lines of guns, beaters with working dogs.

Pheasant, partridge and duck on the day

Small game shooting runs from the September opening to the February close: common and American pheasant, grey and red-legged partridge, mallard duck. The average bag on a day at the Creux is 80 to 120 head.

How the day unfolds

Welcome and coffee at the château from 8.30 am, briefing and peg draw, then four drives punctuate Saturday’s shoot — broken up by elevenses in the drawing room and a three-course luncheon in the dining room. The day closes in the late afternoon with the bag laid out before the cour d’honneur, called by the hunting horn, followed by the friendship glass and a candlelit dinner.

Weekend packages

For the companion: the Discovery weekend at €290 per person (two nights, Friday and Saturday, breakfasts, Saturday lunch and dinner).

For the gun: the Shooting weekend at €990 per person (driven day on Saturday, two nights, all meals included).

For a party of 8 to 12 guns, exclusive hire of the estate is available on quote: choice of drives, dedicated head keeper, bespoke accommodation.
