Reception spaces and capacities

From the 15-hectare park to the reception rooms, the estate offers adaptable spaces for ceremonies, dinners, meetings and parties. Capacities vary considerably depending on the chosen format: a figure for a standing ceremony has little to do with a figure for a seated dinner.

Capacities

Reading the figures

Why capacities vary so much depending on the format

The capacity figures below do not refer to the same thing. Two hundred people for an outdoor ceremony means guests standing or seated on folding chairs in the park, with no constraint on movement between tables. One hundred and twenty people for a seated dinner means a number of places laid in the reception rooms, where the space needed per person is far greater than for a ceremony. One hundred and fifty for a cocktail reception or dancing falls between the two: standing, with people moving around, in a covered space this time. This difference explains why a wedding of 150 guests for the ceremony and the cocktail reception can perfectly well take place at the château, whereas a seated dinner for the same number would require extra space, usually under a tent or marquee set up in the court of honour, an option to plan from the quote request rather than add at the last minute.

The outdoor spaces in detail

The 15-hectare landscaped park hosts the most informal moments: cocktail reception, games, photos, a walk between two highlights of the day. The court of honour, enclosed on three sides by the château and its pavilions, frames the ceremony or the cocktail reception, with acoustics and a perspective that the open park does not offer in the same way. A marquee can be set up there if needed, whether to extend the available space or to serve as a plan B in case of rain. The private car park, with 50 spaces, takes a good share of the guests arriving by car; beyond that, a shuttle or organised car-sharing remains the most practical solution, to be planned when the invitations go out rather than at the last minute.

The indoor spaces in detail

The château’s reception rooms host the covered moments: dinner, speeches, the evening party. Three smaller rooms, designed for groups of eight to twelve people, suit breakout workshops during a retreat or a more intimate space during a private reception. The main meeting room, set up theatre style, seats up to 40 people for a plenary session. The Maison du Régisseur, with its ten beds in five bedrooms, can house some of the guests or participants directly on the estate, without depending on a nearby hotel for the night after the event, a practical advantage for guests coming from afar.

Depending on the project

Which spaces for which kind of project?

A wedding generally uses all the spaces: ceremony in the park or the court of honour, cocktail reception outdoors, dinner and party in the drawing rooms, accommodation for some of the guests in the Maison du Régisseur. A corporate retreat mainly uses the indoor spaces: the meeting room set up theatre style for the plenary, the three workshop rooms for breakout groups and, possibly, the park for a break or a team-building activity. A private event, generally more modest, is often content with a single space, a reception room or part of the park, depending on the number of guests and the chosen formula. This difference in use explains why the quote varies so much from one project to another, even with a comparable number of guests: it is not only the number of people that counts. The combination of spaces actually used weighs just as much in the calculation.
